Week 4

Thursday- Here's my new Running shoes I got today, I think they're pretty Awesome!!! They fit a lot like my old ones, which I figured where due to be replaced considering they were over 4 years old.  I took them out this afternoon for about 50 minutes. I feel like I can already run a little bit longer in this small amount of training I've done. I pushed myself to run a little further today and even added a little sprint in at the end. Man running is hard work!!! but I do feel pretty amazing when i'm finished. Now if only I could get the motivation to get up and run every morning, I would feel great all day.

I'm thinking about doing the Broad St. ReRun next month. It's a 5mile run that actually starts right in Lansdale by Kristy's house. I know 5 miles is a lot for a beginner but I want to do it just for fun and the event experience.  I might even sign Ethan up for the kids 1/2 mile run, that boy loves to run just like his Grandpa Fred :)

Week 3

Sunday- Went for a 40 minute run outside. I'm working on my breathing, to try and not get anymore side-aches.

Monday- We went for a family bike ride. Greg's training to go on a weekend trip next month with the boys called Dirt-Fest where they ride all over Raystown lake. This ride turned out to be very beneficial because we rode by the Hatfield Community Garden that we didn't know existed.  Now we have a 20x20 garden plot for the whole season. We are very excited to get planting!!!!

Wednesday- Kristy and I went to the pool. This was our/her first time so I taught her some stroke technics and helped her with breathing. She did very well! I think after a few more times she should be able to start training and working up her distance. I did laps here and there while helping Kristy and at the end swam an 800 meter straight, just to keep up my swimming. I think swimming should go okay for me. I'm just going to work to maintain it and really focus on the running and biking :)

This week I also committed to try a Vegan Diet for 30 days. Vegan is a plant based diet with no animal products. I've been researching this diet and learning about all the benefits. My hope is that not only will it help me lose weight but it will give me more energy! I found some really good recipes on the Whole Foods website that i've been making, which everyone has been enjoying! I also have been keeping track of everything I eat on my Iphone app, LoseIt. It gives me nutritional facts for my day so I can make sure that I'm getting enough protein. So far it's been great and I feel great besides all the gas! But they say that passes, no pun intended ;)

Week 2

Monday- I thought I would give the gym a whirl and guess what... It's a miracle, Ethan stayed in the babysitters for 45 minutes! I was so happy I might actually be able start exercising at the gym like a normal person :)

I ran on the treadmill for about 30 minutes and then did some new machine for 15 minure before they came and found me to say Ethan was now crying :(

Tuesday- Kristy came over and we went for a run around the neighborhood taking turns pushing the stroller. It was nice, we have about the same pace.

Wednesday & Thursday- I was lazy, I'll admit it, and didn't do anything.

Friday- time to get back on track....to be continued.....

Day 4,5,& 6

Went for a run again on friday. The weather was beautiful, almost 80 out. But still very hard to push the stroller. I only ran about 20 minutes, Ethan kept screaming "I wanna Play, I wanna Play" every time we would run towards the playground so I finally gave in!

This weekend I really wanted to go to the gym to run and swim, But I didn't get a chance :( Greg was building the fence on the side of the house so I was busy with the kids all weekend.

Week 2 plan
Tomorrow I'm going to try the gym with the kids again and see how that goes. Hopefully Ethan will stay calm and let mommy workout for more than 10 minutes. Fingers crossed!

Day 2

Well today was kind of a wash :( didn't make it to the pool or out for a run. I'm really going to have work on scheduling my training to make sure the day doesn't slip by. I think the hardest part is going to be swimming, unless for some crazy reason I can get Ethan to stay in the daycare for more than 10 minutes at the YMCA. Until that miracle happens, I'm thinking I'll plan my swimming for Wednesdays when our babysitter is here and Saturday mornings. So that's my plan for tomorrow... Wish me luck... although I am looking forward to the sauna and/or steamroom after my swim ;)

Day One

Today is the day it all begins! I will become that women that I always knew I could be and want to be! Strong, dedicated, athletic, and instilling the importance of fitness in my children.

Day 1- weight 153

I started my journey out with a 20 minute morning jog to the park with the kids, followed by 40 minutes of playing at the playground. The run went pretty well although, it was a little harder than I expected it would be to run and push a jogger with 2 kiddos. I guess it will just make it that much easier when I run solo. This morning it was beautiful out, about 65 and sunny.
While I was jogging Ethan kept saying "Go Mommy go" If that doesn't get you moving I don't know what would :)

Planning to make it to the pool tonight to get in a swim. Hopefully Kristy can come with so we can start working on her stoke/swim training.

Here's some photos from today,  Ethan didn't want his picture taken
